A co-founder of ASSEMBLE, Megan Smulski is an accomplished non-profit executive with over 20 years of experience in fundraising, strategic leadership, and organizational growth. She has a proven track record in transformative philanthropy, leading fundraising efforts for four capital campaigns that raised over $2 billion for capital projects, endowments, and operations. Megan has played pivotal roles in three billion-dollar organizations, two Division I Power 4 athletic departments, and the LPGA Tour.
Specializing in family office philanthropy, capital campaign strategy, and philanthropic planning, Megan excels at aligning organizational missions with private resources to maximize impact. Her expertise extends to optimizing spending efficiency, ensuring that every dollar raised contributes meaningfully to an organization’s mission.
Beyond her front-line work, Megan has served as an executive board member for the Down Syndrome Association of Pittsburgh and the National Down Syndrome Congress, guiding these organizations through executive transitions and fostering sustainable revenue growth. She has also served as a trusted advisor to emerging non-profits on scaling operations and expanding community impact.
Her strategic approach to philanthropy, combined with her deep understanding of donor relations, ensures that both charitable organizations and their supporters realize their full potential through innovative funding solutions and strategic partnerships.
Megan holds a B.A. in Public Relations and an M.S. in Sport Management from West Virginia University, along with post-graduate studies at the University of Pittsburgh. Raised in Pittsburgh’s Mon Valley, she and her husband Anthony and children, Owen and Cameron, reside in Upper St. Clair, Pa.
